A Garden Picnic in the Bathtub!

It was cold outside, but we needed to take care of Mama’s garden that was wintering in the bathtub.  When our work was done, we had a cheerio picnic!

My Red Wagon!

For Christmas, my Aunt Janet and Aunt Sara gave me the most beautiful red wagon in the whole world!  I will sit and play in it for hours!

I also got a package in the mail from Auntie Rashmi in London.  I wouldn’t let anyone touch it, but I carried it around with me all day!  I put it in the wagon for safe-keeping, but Mama opened it after I went to sleep.

So what does Kara do all day?  Find out by clicking the picture below!

I can do it MYSELF!

Kara seems to think that she really doesn’t need the rest of us anymore.  After all, she can hold her own bottle, walk and climb to get what she wants, tear apart the kitchen, or a book, all on her own!

10 months

Kara’s not a baby any more, just ask her!  She loves anything that is a sign of her being a "big girl."  She puts her onesie on all by herself, then squeals with delight at how grown up she is.  She took her first step on the day after Christmas, and after recovering from the shock of it all, looked up at me with a look of intense satisfaction.  She loves telling Chase what to do, especially when we go on walks, she sits in her stroller with Chase walking next to her, and she shakes her hand at him and shouts at him to stay close.  She decided on January 2 that she no longer had time for nursing, and finds a bottle much more appropriate to the "on the go" lifestyle of a 10 month old.  She is certainly determined.

Other accomplishments:
December 26 - takes first step
December 29 - She can say "banana,"  "milk," and "all gone"
January 2 - She discovers bananas can be used to style her hair, and it sticks!
January 3 - "pretends" to bite mama’s fingers, and grins at how well she copied the game she and daddy play (this is significant because it shows she is showing some level of control over her previous vicious use of those razor sharp baby teeth - this time she was very careful not to hurt mama)
January 4 - holds her own bottle at feeding time, gives kisses to the baby in the mirror, initiates her own game of peek-a-boo with her bib at dinner, and removes the tray from her high chair.

It’s a busy month!
