Take me out of the Ball Game…

On May 21, Kara enjoyed (and I use the word loosely) her first baseball game at twelve weeks old!  It was a wonderful game, in spite of the nasty weather, and we had fantastic seats just behind home plate.

Sadly, Kara began screaming about 2.5 seconds after we arrived.  STRIKE ONE…

Perhaps if the Rangers had played badly there would have been minimal cheering, and Kara would have enjoyed it.  But alas, they played brilliantly.  The crowds cheered, the fireworks boomed (there were multiple home-runs) and Kara and mom saw none of it.  We walked.  We walked around the perimeter of the ballpark.  We rode the escalator up and walked around the upper levels.  We walked up and down the stairs.  Once she fell asleep, and mom crept back to her seat just in time to see a fabulous play (read excruciatingly loud cheers).  As you might expect, Kara woke up to scream right along with them. STRIKE TWO…

Finally we found a quiet spot to feed Kara, changed her diaper, and she seemed to calm down.  She was almost asleep when someone hit a home-run!  (I can’t tell you who, as I was hiding hoping to keep the noise a secret from a sleepy little girl.  Never one to be fooled, she instantly renewed her protests, and we decided to call it a night.  STRIKE THREE.  We’re OUT!
